William Lewis 1856 Daguerreotype Glass Developing Tank: William Lewis senior along with his son William H. Lewis, claimed to have made the first cameras, coating boxes, mercury baths and head rests for business in America. This has the patent mark NY 1856 W & W.H. Lewis. Measures 8.25 x 6 and has a small chip out of the top edge. Lovely and very rare piece of early photographic developing equipment.
