1870's Slave Remuneration Document Panola, Mississippi For David Bishop vs. United States: Slave remuneration document for 39 slaves. David Bishop, plantation owner signed this document to receive compensation for his slaves after the Emancipation Proclamation. There is a list of names of the slaves, amounts, and ages. Document is in poor condition, with tape on seams that makes it difficult to read some of the names. Some paper loss as well.
